Aluminium metal of the future!
The light metal aluminum has due to a rapidly forming in the air thin oxide layer a dull silver-gray appearance. The oxide layer makes aluminum very resistant to corrosion. It is a very soft metal, is stretchable and can be processed by rolling into a thin film. Aluminium is the third most abundant element in the earth's crust and occurs only in chemically - bound state. It is a good electrical conductor.
Due to the low density of aluminum, this metal is often used as where mass has to be moved, especially in the packaging industry and in the aerospace industry. For this reason, the aluminum material gains in vehicle increasingly important.
In alloys with magnesium, silicon and other metals strengths are achieved in extrusion profiles similar to those of steel only slightly inferior. Therefore, the use of aluminum for weight reduction is very popular. In aircraft and space technology, aluminum is the material of choice. Automotive manufacturers use the advertising effect of the material.
